Who Am I? Let Me Tell You!

Hi there! I’m A. Jean—though you can just call me A.J. I’m a quirky, slightly odd woman with an unshakable passion for storytelling, a strong dislike for in-person interactions, and a knack for being as awkward as they come. Living with ADHD, a bit of autism, a sprinkle of depression, and a host of other health challenges, I’ve learned to channel my energy into creating fantastical worlds and unforgettable characters.
Dark romance, fantasy, and getting lost in imaginary universes—whether my own or those of other authors—are my happy places. Just don’t ask me who my favorite author is; my memory will blank the second you put me on the spot. Socially, I’m loud, awkward, and far from graceful, but I like to think that adds to my charm.
I’m a jack of all trades who lives a rural lifestyle on a farm-like setup with chickens, ducks, guinea fowl, and cats. When my health allows it, you’ll find me outside with my animals or knee-deep in renovating our old farmhouse (yes, demolishing walls is as therapeutic as it sounds). When I’m not wrangling animals or wielding a hammer, I’m a graphic designer and, of course, a writer of fantasy romance.
While I’m new to publishing, my journey as a writer has been more than a decade in the making. For years, I collected ideas and inspirations, stashing them away in a file on my computer, but self-doubt kept me from sharing my stories. I constantly questioned if anyone would read them or if they were "good enough." Bu... I decided 2025 was going to be my year and refused to stop letting fear hold me back. With encouragement from friends who begged for more chapters, I took the plunge and published my debut book, the first in the Shadows of The Faye series. (Book One, Bound By Prophecy, was a book two years in the making, and ADHD daydream that would not leave me alone. Literally, two years of slowly writing it bit by bit...)
Writing fantasy romance is my passion. I love crafting worlds filled with vampires, shifters, witches, faye, demons, and more—tossing in a little spice (or a lot) with beautifully flawed characters and morally grey main male characters. My ADHD mind is a blender of wild daydreams and intricate plots, and the result is an enchanting mix that I pour into my books.
Of course, Shadows of The Faye is just the beginning. I have big plans for future stories, including a Psychic Vampire series and, perhaps, a steamy Angel-meets-spicy-club series. Honestly, with my ADHD-fueled imagination and characters who love to hijack the plot, even I’m not entirely sure where my journey will take me next!
Life hasn’t always been easy. Starting in 2021, I faced major health challenges that made daily life a struggle. But instead of letting those obstacles define me, I found strength in my passion for storytelling. 2025 became my year of transformation—a time to take a leap of faith and share my worlds with readers everywhere.
I invite you to join me on this literary adventure as I explore new worlds and share unforgettable tales. From the magical universe of Shadows of The Faye to the mysterious Psychic Vampire series and beyond, I promise my stories will captivate, enthrall, and maybe even surprise you.
Let’s see where this journey takes us—together.
I also have a poetry book published under a different pen name of Raven Aisling.
