This is a brand-new initiative I’m building from the ground up, with the help of another author acting as a moderator.
Why Join Now? By jumping on board early, you’ll have the opportunity to help shape the next big community for creatives and readers alike.
But AJ… What’s the Point? You might be wondering: “There are already so many writing communities out there. What makes this one different?” Let me explain.
When I began my author journey, I quickly realized just how expensive it is to publish a quality book as an indie author. Editing, beta readers, cover art—the costs add up fast. Before you know it, you’re thousands of dollars in, with no guarantee of making that money back. And let’s not forget marketing expenses and the ever-present risk of scammers preying on indie authors.
Is it any wonder why so many authors are turning to AI services for their books? (While I don’t agree with it, I can understand the temptation.) For example:
Cover art can range from $100 to $400—or even more.
Editing costs can skyrocket to $600–$2,000 for just one round.
If you can’t afford these services, your book risks looking unprofessional, perpetuating the stigma around indie publishing.
The Vision For months, I’ve been brainstorming a solution. Here’s an excerpt from a blog post I wrote but never published until this week:
"The reality of becoming an author can be financially daunting. While the investment in editing, design, formatting, and marketing is substantial—often reaching thousands of dollars before publication—the true cost might be the stories left untold. How many brilliant narratives remain trapped in creative minds simply because their authors can't afford to bring them to life?"
I see indie authors on TikTok saying, “We’re a community, we support each other.” And while I love that sentiment, I often wonder: beyond video shares and likes, where’s the real support?
It’s time to turn those good intentions into meaningful action.
A Modern Take on an Old Idea Remember when communities thrived on the exchange of skills and services, rather than money? Let’s bring that back—with a modern twist. Imagine a community where:
Graphic designers create stunning book covers.
Editors polish manuscripts to perfection.
Beta readers provide thoughtful, constructive feedback.
Marketing professionals share their expertise.
Authors exchange their unique skills.
No money changes hands—just a fair exchange of time and talent. Everyone benefits, and together, we elevate the quality of indie publishing.
Raising the Bar for Indie Publishing Indie books often face skepticism about their quality. But what if we could change that? By pooling our talents and supporting each other, we can:
Make quality publishing accessible to all talented writers.
Build a reputation for excellence in indie publishing.
Create lasting professional relationships.
Share knowledge and resources.
Grow together as authors and entrepreneurs.
Introducing the Collaborative Creators Collective I’m launching a new Discord community to bring this vision to life. This space will be dedicated to:
Matching skills with needs.
Organizing service exchanges.
Building lasting professional relationships.
Sharing success stories and best practices.
Establishing quality standards for our exchanges.

Together, we can make indie publishing more accessible, reduce reliance on AI-generated content, and raise the overall quality of indie books. By helping each other create books that rival traditionally published works, we can pave the way for more indie authors to achieve success—and pull each other up along the way.
Let’s build something amazing, together.
